Customers would primarily be royal household staff, who currently have to travel 10 miles to reach the nearest bar at Ballater.

A senior aide to the Queen is reported to have said: “Piper’s Hall is a great setting, right next to the river. I guess you could say it’ll be one of the most exclusive bars in Britain.
