Well you hear about this kind of thing in the news but never think it will happen… The latest update from our developers is that the data center where our site is hosted was attacked by a ransom ware virus. This was caught, but the damage is more than originally expected. Their security protocol was to shut down all servers on the affected network and clean/restore the operations one by one. This is a huge data center that runs sites for significant companies including Verizon. Clearly even the best in the business can be vulnerable.
We have, of course, been in a state of panic and only able to wait for results. As horrible as it is, we’ve also been amazed to see how many in the service industry rely on EstateJobs as a daily tool for their own success. We will be thrilled when this is all over and we’re back to normal on behalf of our wonderful clients. Thank you for your patience and support!
Update 1/14/20
We've made the very difficult decision to move EstateJobs to a new job board developer. Because of the recent outage and since we have been planning a future upgrade, we are making the shift immediately. This will be both difficult and wonderful as we will be upgrading nearly all of the components of the site. The hard part will be the wait… The initial estimate for returning to full service is approximately 2 weeks from today. We all hope it will be sooner but no promises. The good news is there is nothing for you to do right now. We will update everyone when the transition is complete and help walk through the testing and tuning of the site together.
